200,000 miles!!!
I finally breached the 200k mile mark on my 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon today, Thursday July 11th, 2019! I custom factory ordered it in November 2012, the build was complete mid December, and I took delivery on December 27th, 2012 with only 11 miles on the Odometer. It took me roughly six and a half years to get to 200k miles, at about 30k miles a year, 2,550 miles a month. During this time, aside from routine maintenance, I have had almost no mechanical failures or issues (radiator went twice and that’s about it).
I have been through a lot with this Rubicon, been through all types of terrain on road and off, along with all types of weather. It has cruised down the beach during the warm summer months with the doors and roof off, plowed through 2 feet+ of snow during the worst blizzards New England has to offer, and has just been a dependable daily driver and constant companion through thick and thin for the past six and a half years!
I would say there is almost a sort of connection between my Rubicon and I, one of those feelings you get when you’re driving a vehicle you love, when you become the vehicle! My Rubicon has done things that people have claimed was just about impossible for such a vehicle. Things such as being able to get over 150k miles out of the original set of factory mud tires, or routinely being able to get over 25 MPG when cruising on the highway. This is no ordinary Rubicon, this is MY Rubicon! When we drive, we are one!
